(Aging Untold) — As we get older, our bodies can have a harder time absorbing key vitamins and minerals — and the warning signs are easy to miss. The Aging Untold hosts are breaking down which vitamin deficiencies are most common in older adults, what to watch for and what to ask your doctor.‘I just don’t feel like myself’ When someone describes that vague, hard-to-pin-down feeling, Dr. Rhea Rogers, a board-certified physician, said a handful of nutrient deficiencies are often behind it. “Vitamins and trace minerals are very key for every cell in the body to function,” Rogers said. “So the other organs, they can’t function alone.” She points to two deficiencies in particular — vitamin B12 and vitamin D. “When I look at things like vitamin B12 deficiency, a lot of people will have those, and they will have some mood issues and sensory issues, nerve issues and things like that,” Rogers said. “And a big one is vitamin D — when there’s no sunlight out, people really get kind of depressed a
